This painting symbolizes taking control of your life and stepping into your power and happiness.
It personalizes represents for me a great shift in my life’s journey, after a miraculous healing.
For several years I’d had a debilitating disease that significantly affected the quality of my life. It was a mysterious digestive disorder that kept me in alot of agony, with extreme dietary limitations. I’d tried to target this illness from many angles, but allopathy, naturopathy and spiritual practices seemed to do little to help lift the burden.
All of the sudden, one week I met 3 inspiring people that altered my perspective and shifted my beliefs from weakness to empowerment, and within a days or two after applying their suggestions, I began instantly feeling better and better, and eating a broad range of foods again, without painful symptoms. I’d resurrected my health against the odds, and it appeared to be a simple matter of deciding to take my power back!
In the following few initial days of health freedom, I drew this Angel of Empowerment, a figure which was inspired by my 3 earth angels, but I realized that it ultimately represents myself as my own angel of healing. The spiral of glowing health had to start with my stomach area and radiate out, and like me, the angel lifts her arms and elevates to light of awareness above the darkness of despair, in a pose of total control over the situation, as the sharp shapes of fragmented beliefs and painful memories are broken up and dissolved beneath her, to make room for beneficial change.
Although this relates to my specific situation, I feel it’s a similar journey of empowerment that many inspired souls will take in their lifetime.

This painting is a very special one to me, as it illustrates my own personal journey of health through spiritual transformation. I began it during the onset of my illness, but somehow I couldn’t bring myself to finish it until years later, after I’d experienced my own miracle of healing, which I illustrate here.
The tiny black figure curled up in pain in the nautilus shell represents a sorrowful sick me. Then an angel emerges from the clouds, lovingly tossing my shell of self-pity down the waterfall. I emerge gingerly from the waterfall of change, stepping up into beliefs that reflect a more empowering attitude, as then my higher self sends me healing energy, leading to me finally stepping into my fully self-actualized power of joy and health! I hope this painting helps to inspire others, as the journey to true healing through the higher self is often similar. Believe that you can have the quality of life you desire with all your heart and that’s when miracles happen quickly!
Also, I’d like to include an accompanying poem I wrote about my journey here. Much of the verses describe what’s happening in the painting, but some of the elaborated parts hail from the many initial sketches I did in exploration of creating the painting. It’s sometimes heavy stuff, but it will help you to delve deeper into my story, and perhaps you see a part of yourself in there.
For stargazers, dreamers and cosmonauts, this painting is like interstellar exploration!
When the human eye looks up to space, I believe it’s looking for connections to a more expansive concept of reality. I personally can’t look up to the stars without wondering, and looking for shapes.
So while creating this painting, I decided to invoke one’s imagination more, and turn the nebulous mists of the Orion galaxy into ethereal visions of the invisible realm.
There are a bevvy of mysterious shapes hidden in the stardust, like angels and mystical animals, and I invite you to explore this interstellar space and see what forms you can identify. It’s like imagining shapes for clouds on a bright sunny day, only these are nebulas in deep space.
I created this painting originally for my favorite non-profit art organization, The Peace Project, and their 2015 call for “Visions of Peace.”
My concept behind this painting of that peace is possible when we can hold a common vision of unity for all.
Conflict essentially arises from the notion that we are all separate beings, disconnected from each other. Compassionate spiritual teachings show us that we are all connected as one on the grand scale of life. If we could all lay down our fears and egoic strongholds, then perhaps we could see past our differences between one another, and come to embrace all of our fellow human race.
Once we see the value in each and every human, then ultimately the people controlling all the power, money and warfare would want everyone to have enough, so that we all can prosper together.
Putting aside ignorance and hate for one other, my vision here is that when we all join hands together, we can project enough light and wisdom to unify ourselves in a common vision of peace and prosperity for all.
The Peace Project, started by The Whole 9 Gallery, raises funds by selling art, which is used for philanthropic acts in some of the most desperate places in the world, including giving crutches to amputees in Sierra Leone, and rebuilding houses after typhoon devastation on Bantayan Island in the Philippines.
I’m proud to donate the usage of this image to help others rebuild their lives. Wood prints of this painting and 120 other “Visions of Peace” are available from The Peace Project online shop, and will be on display at the upcoming “Love Wins, Peace Rises” show in Los Angeles this Saturday, November 21st. Their newest initiative is building a Peace Center in Sierra Leone.
I painted this new painting in honor of the Violet Flame of the legendary Saint Germain. The healing power of this ethereal fire has been spreading around through spiritual teachings and I use it a lot to help clear my path from obstacles.
What I do is just think of the Violet Flame and mentally put all of your worries into there—all of your fears, all of your anger, rage, pain and worries. The idea is to just release it into the Violet Flame, and it will then dissolve and transmute your pain, leaving you with a purified peace of mind.
I can feel the benefits this practice, yet still there was a little bit of a mental block for me because I have never actually seen a violet flame, (as that is not something we generally have here on 3D earth) so I decided that I would paint it from my imagination and then I would know what it looks like.
My intent for this painting is to use it with devotional prayer to help me visualize this process. I hope it helps you too, because life can be filled with many disheartening things and we need a way to release the drama that holds us back, and move on into ease and joy.
I’d love to hear your own experiences in visualizing the violet flame’s healing power. Please feel free to comment.
This painting is about how the power of love can help strengthen your will and evolve your life, so you can shine your light!
We’ve all had our our kinds of painful experiences that have tested us more than we thought we could take at the time. In those challenging times, few things can bring you more comfort than the steady arms of a soulmate friend or lover, holding you through the suffering, telling you they love you, and making you feel better, if only for having them with you. With that kind of nurturing love, a weary soul feels less alone, and thereby has more hope for change.
In my own experience, my supportive husband has helped me to grow and flourish ever since I met him, and together we’ve swam through the murky waters of pain and uncertainty to reclaim our power, through our combined love. His loving arms have helped me through my darkest hours, and it was then that I drew the first sketches for this painting.
Shortly after I created this painting, over a year later, I also happened to miraculously break through some long-term health issues and feel good again, which does feel like stepping into the light of my inner power!
Here in the painting you can see the healing metaphor of two twin flames that have grown and risen through a sacred lotus on a fish pond. Life can feel like swimming in a dark pond, until you you meet your life partner, or someone who sees and supports you on your ultimate path of evolution.
With their combined strength of love and care, this couple rises from the shadowy depths towards the stars, flowing and growing together, becoming their own heroes and unfolding their dreams like a lotus flower.
There are so many stars in the sky that life on other planets seems inevitable to me. On super starry nights I look up at the sky and look for signs of spaceships, for something extra-ordinary.
Our first night in Sedona my husband and I looked straight up and BOTH saw some extraordinary activity in the sky: It looked like a star, but did several very fast and erratic movements to different directions, before quickly disappearing!
Such fast changes of direction simply can’t be achieved with any man-made planes made yet today. It was a short-lived experience, and from a distance, but I’m certain what we saw was a UFO. I haven’t seen anything exactly like this aerodynamic “Pleidian” saucer craft yet, but just making this painting might increase the odds!
Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon of neon lights, seen only in the arctic skies of the Northern hemisphere of Earth. It’s documented as a scientific process, but the colors are so surreally different from the colors we usually see in the sky, that I think everyone would agree it looks more super-naturally derived than normal!
Here in my painted imagination I like to think the auroras could actually be visual signs of electro-magnetic waves of communication with extra-terrestial beings from other galaxies…
For those who keep the E.T. dream alive, I give you: Pleidian Borealis Glow.
This painting was created for The Peace Project’s annual call for artistic “Visions of Peace.” The mission was to create my own unique interpretation to their 2014 theme “Peace Starts Here.”
So in creating my Vision of Peace, I started with drawing on my own my personal experience I’ve felt the most peaceful when I feel LOVED. I’ve also experienced the life-changing power of yoga, and this piece draws on the beautiful mirrored reflection of partner yoga, which can inspire feelings of sacred union between people.
Here in this painting, two yoginis face each other, share love between them, and from that healing experience of love, the brilliant light of peace is powerfully emanated outwards. I believe that energy with this sort of positive charge can benefit others around the world in ways unseen, through the power of prayer.
The more love we share, the more peace will grow, and perhaps one day heal the world.
Interestingly, the original painting was purchased the very next day after it’s creation, to the first person who saw it! Luckily, archival prints are still available here at my Etsy shop.
To purchase a 12″ x 12″ wood panel print of this painting, visit my listing on The Whole 9 Gallery Peace Shop. Artists such as myself are donating all proceeds of these peace panels to The Peace Project, which is currently building new homes for Typhoon Haiyan victims in the Philippines.
This painting is the first I created through the turn of this new year 2015, and I feel it’s reflective of the new artistic direction I’m exploring.
I created this painting as an inspiration for my own personal growth and healing, to remind me that the universe holds many possibilities of further discovery. I believe that we are all divine light beings who’ve forgotten who we really are, and in need of reminding ourselves that we’re more powerful than we realize.
As myself and many other people are starting to realize, meditation is an important way to center yourself, and to connect to our inner wisdom, which leads us each on unique spiritual paths. With application of such reflective practice, miracles can happen which can change our lives forever, and lead us towards fulfilling our dreams.
Here a powerful goddess sits in meditation pose in the middle of a spiralling galaxy of brilliant stars, and her life force energy also rises in a spiral from the base of her body upwards, merging mind, body and spirit to become enveloped in her own glowing light.
Ancient texts and visions speak of a lighted star-tetrahedron shape called a ‘merkaba’ appearing in the sky. It is said that once a human being connects with their inner divine nature, they become pure light, which activates their merkaba and allowing them to travel through various dimensions as non-physical energy.
Just as collective knowledge once believed the world was flat, I believe we still have much mind-blowing information like this to learn, that will become commonly-known eventually. Now, more than ever in human history, our attitude is becoming increasingly more positive than negative. As this shift becomes more prevalent in our culture, human evolution advances towards a more spiritual consciousness.

Part 2: PAINTING ON THE ROAD
Now that I’m traveling so much with my husband’s music tour, I don’t get quite as much opportunity to paint as I did before. Yet my soul yearns to paint, and I have completed 3 paintings that I love, and started 2 other intriguing ones recently, plus I’ve been sketching a whole lot more than I ever did before. I plan to post more photos of my drawing process in the next year, as well time lapse painting videos, so you can see how the concept starts out & changes.
Featured here are a few snapshots of my completed paintings since the tour began in June 2014, starting with Share Love, Make Peace, The Quiet One, which is anything but quiet. Mystic Trinity of Smoke Valley was done on repurposed plywood that I found at a construction site, which inspired a similar cloaked figure on a freshly-cut tree branch face that I was asked to paint, on some quiet ocean-view land in Caspar, CA that we stayed on. I really enjoyed this new experience of painting on the wood, picking up on it’s naturally-occurring patterns and then turning it into what I see it the grain; to me it feels like the painting almost paints itself.
Share Love, Make Peace was the first painting I did on the road, created for The Whole 9 Gallery’s Peace Project contest, and I sold the original the very next day after finishing it — and for much more than I expected— from a dear new friend we’d met our on NorCal travels! If you’d like to purchase a lovely 12 x 12″ wood panel print of this piece, it’s for sale at The Whole 9 Gallery, and 100% of the profits go to changing lives around the world.
My husband Darius and I have been so impressed by the global relief efforts of The Peace Project, and founder/gallery owner Lisa Schultz, that we’ve also started to donate 10% of our music tour income to their wonderful actions, which has most recently gone towards rebuilding homes for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines. It feels so great to give, knowing that the money is going immediately to help change lives in such big ways.
I welcome hearing your favorites or comments on these new paintings of mine! Which is your favorite?
