Don’t you just love flowers? To me each flower looks like it’s own little face…
When the first blooms of spring came up in my backyard, I gathered a huge bouquet of flowers which urged me to paint it immediately! This was one of my first semi-abstract expressionist paintings, and it was fun to push the boundaries of how I depicted form, while experimenting with raised textures.

I know what you mean about flowers looking like faces! I know it sounds sad but I could honestly look at flowers for hours, so artistic.
It’s not sad, it’s absolutely right on! Flowers are so beautiful, they are captivating. One artist has said that we artists will spend our whole lives attempting to create something as beautiful as a flower!
