I have always loved to draw and paint and make art that is out of the ordinary. My passion to create was complemented by studying Graphic Design at The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Along with a desire to dig deeper I rounded out my artistic leanings with Cultural Studies and Literature.
Right after college I moved to New York City to become Art Director for several Manhattan fashion magazines, including In Style and Modern Bride. With the fast-pace of city life draining her muse, I then turned to Yoga, which reignited my spirit with awareness and insight. This transformation led me and my husband on a year’s trip around the world with the exotic beauty of new places and experiences inspiring me to explore fresh techniques and new creative approaches.
Following these world travels we moved to the lush surroundings of Hawaii for a year but it was the up-tempo call of the city that ultimately drew me to Los Angeles. Now, I’ve applied my business talents to running my own eco-friendly design studio in LA, creating award-winning publications and image-branding. A series of mixed media photography was born from Hawaiian and other global imagery which has been exhibited several times.
More recently, it’s oil paints that beckon me to create beyond the computer with focus on expressionist fine art painting. Here I feel free to move with more dynamic abandon, creating colorful alternate realities which vacillate between figurative and abstract subjects. I’ve had several gallery showings around Los Angeles thus far, and I continue to weave myself into the beautiful web of the art world.
